Grain boundaries, as deficiency traps, are considered to absorb Frenkel defects arising from the collision cascade and may alleviate the mechanical property degradation caused by irradiation. For different grain boundaries, the trapping intensity and absorption mechanism of defects are different. The influence of the direction of the collision cascade and the type of the grain boundary on the collision cascade process is discussed.
